A Work Hangover



Last night, I worked an overnight shift at work on overtime.  I am usually in bed and falling asleep by 11:30pm, but I was up allllll night and didn’t get to lay my head down until around 7:40 this morning.  Ugh.  Don’t get me wrong, I need the money and it was worth it, but the upset to my sleep schedule is just crazy.  Anyway, I slept until around 2:30 this afternoon and woke up with a headache like I had a hangover.  Blech!  Anyway, as I lay on the couch, sipping my coffee, I toyed with the idea of maybe taking a rest day and running tomorrow instead.  That idea was immediately shot down.  I reasoned that running would probably make the headache go away.  And I was right!  Shortly into my run, no more headache!  And guess what else?  Ran my fastest times yet!  I ran the whole 4 miles in less than 40 minutes!  Woohoo!  And it felt great!
