Pushing My Limits

Today is a Woohoo kind of day.  Why?  Because yesterday I had a thought.  I thought that maybe I should do something about this feeling I had on Sunday as I finished my run.  That thought was that I could go further, push myself a little more.  So, yesterday, I decided that today I would try for 4 miles instead of just the 3.1 miles (5K) that I usually run.  Well, I did it.  Easily.  I know I can go further.  If I keep this up with my increasing my mileage on run days, I’m going to be running the Capital 10K in Austin, TX in April instead of some random 5K.  I mean, I’m still going to run a 5K, but if I can run the Cap 10K as well,, oh my god, I will feel like I’m on top of the world!  I’ll have to make sure I’ve got a friend at the finish line to take a picture of me as I cross it, victorious!  Teehee. 

I absolutely love running outdoors.  I feel so free when I’m out there running.  I feel like I can do whatever I put my mind to doing when I’m running outdoors.  I have no problems when I’m out running.  Nothing else matters while I’m running.  It really is my absolute favorite thing, and that’s saying a lot because I have had a long term love affair with weight lifting.  But I just don’t look forward to weight lifting in the same way that I look forward to running.
