So, after reading one of Diary of anAspiring Loser’s blogs where she calculated her lean body mass based on her
current weight and body fat %, I decided to do the same. Currently, my lean body mass is 138 lbs. Nice. Of
course, that right there tells you that I literally cannot get below my goal
weight of 160. In fact, I may not even
be able to get to my goal weight. See, I
did the math and if I stay at my current lean body mass of 138, at 160 I will
have only 14% body fat. While not
impossible, it would be extremely difficult to maintain that percentage. I wouldn’t be able to miss a single day of
working out, I would have to be super dooper hypervigilant about my eating and
calorie intake. It would be a full time
job to maintain that percentage. So, I’ve
done a little more math and have discovered that at 166, I would have 17% body
fat. A much, much, MUCH more
maintainable percentage. So, I guess my
new goal weight would be 166, giving me only 10 lbs to go until I reach my goal
weight. At that point, while I will
continue to log my miles in running, I will focus a little more on pushing
myself in my strength training. I want
to be one of those girls with well-defined muscles. But I also want to be a girl who is known for
her running.
