Today started off with me sleeping until I literally couldn’t sleep any more. 10-something. I got up and got a cup of coffee started (seriously can’t wait to finish drinking the stuff I have right now so I can start drinking the Starbuck’s anniversary blend!!!) and heated up a piece of razzleberry pie for breakfast. Wait. What? Pie? For breakfast? What on earth is wrong with me? Oh yea, I’m on vacation. Teehee.
So, I checked my bank account and HOORAY!!! that money from the canceled Amazon.com order was finally refunded…only took them almost a whole week. Geez. So, after I determined that I had some spending money, I went on Wal-Mart’s website and site-to-store ordered Mists of Pandaria expansion pack (it was available for same day pick up…which basically means I prepay for it and don’t have to drive from store to store trying to find it in stock). Not too much longer after I completed my order and I got the text saying it was ready for pickup, so I got dressed and headed to the store to pick it up. While I was there, I grabbed a glass 2 cup measuring cup (my plastic one that I’ve had for years finally started to leak out of the bottom the other day after I boiled some water in it in the microwave). While I was there, I also picked up LOADS of my sparkly waters. Then, on the way home, I decided to go to Randall’s (owned by Safeway, if you didn’t know) and get a bunch of their sparkly waters. I almost got their brand of ff cottage cheese and some single servings of no sugar added diced fruit cups. However, I put them back because the cottage cheese was almost $4 a tub and the fruit cups were $2.50 for 4 and I was pretty sure I could get them at Target for less. And oh was I right! The Target house brand ff cottage cheese was almost HALF of the Randall’s house brand, coming in at $2.04 a tub. The fruit cup packs of 4 were 50 cents less at Target too. So glad I waited on those items.
Oh! Also while at Wal-Mart, I discovered they have calorie-free sparkly lemonade/iced tea in 2 liter bottles for like 89 cents each. Oh wow! This makes me very happy. I usually get the Snapple brand diet half & half (lemonade and iced tea) and those are like 1.5 liters and run almost $2 each. And they have 5 calories per serving, 40 per bottle. Not a lot, but hey, every little bit counts, right? Right? Anyway, so now I have weeks of drinks in my kitchen shelves. And that makes me happy!
After all that sparkly water buying frenzy, I went to a jewelry repair shop to see if they had what the sales lady at Helzberg had referred to as a “bracelet buddy” that would help me clasp my new bracelet on myself. The first one basically laughed me out of the store saying he’d been in the business for over 35 years and had never heard of such a thing. So I left. I then went to the next one on the list. This guy, a lot nice (and a hell of a lot CUTER!) actually knew what I was talking about. He said he didn’t have any in the store but he could see if he could order one and what the price would be, if I had a minute. I said I did. While he searched through his books and on the internet, we chatted. We talked about running mostly. He had just recently picked it up and the furthest he’s run so far is the Mopac to S. Congress Ave loop on Town Lake trail (about 4.5 miles). I told him that was pretty good. I said I wasn’t a fast runner, but that I’ve gone so far as 14 miles. He was impressed. He really went out of his way to see if he could find something useful for me. When he didn’t think he was going to be able to find anything else, he said if I wanted to leave my number he’d keep looking and would let me know if he found anything. So I wrote down my name and number (thinking in my head that he could call me socially…if he wanted to…teehee). And I left. As I was pulling into my apartment complex he called to let me know he’d found a video that shows you how to make your own bracelet assistant (oh yea, he found one that would have cost me, with shipping, about $18!!!).
I stopped and checked the mail and YAY my new Bondi Band headbands had arrived!
The one with all the colors and swirls and flowers is definitely my favorite of all my headbands. It’s so fun and colorful!
Between getting home and 6pm, I ate the other 2 pieces of pie…one of them had some fat free vanilla ice cream with it. I have no excuses other than it was there and it was easy. I also have no regrets. Again, I’m on vacation. I’m not going to go “hog wild” with my food choices, but I’m not going to chastise myself about them either.
So, after my third piece of pie for the day (and, by the way, I didn’t eat anything else at this point), I tore myself away from playing World of Warcraft to get ready for my run. I figured I’d do the 7.5 mile run because a 5.5 mile run would be easier to play catch up with next week. Even though I was thoroughly enjoying myself while playing WoW, I was also getting antsy and wanting to go for a run. The run went great. It was just what I needed! Finished in just over an hour and 21 minutes. Not fast, but not too slow either. I started off in the 9’s, but soon after the first mile, I got a twinge in my upper left quad, maybe my upper hammy…not entirely sure. So, that slowed me a bit because I didn’t want to overdo it. I was a little stiff after not running for 2 days straight.
I got home, took a shower and went to the computer with all intentions of playing a couple more hours of WoW before going to bed. However, WoW apparently decided it had things it needed to download…for a couple hours. Ugh. So, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to play any more tonight or not. At this point, it’s still got over a gigabyte to download. If not, I’ve got all afternoon tomorrow after I get home from hanging out with Denise and hubby in the morning/early afternoon. I’m thinking I might go ahead and do the 5.5 miler tomorrow evening at about 6:30. Which still gives me plenty of time!
Something else I want to do tomorrow, but won’t take up a lot of my time is [if the chicken and turkey are fully thawed] to make that “fowl” meatloaf with buffalo sauce mixed in. Speaking of that, I thought I was going to have to look up a recipe for it, but I managed to find my Biggest Loser Family Cookbook which has the recipe in it (I’ll post it tomorrow in case you’re interested).
For dinner, I had a 1/3 lb turkey burger patty, grilled, lightly salted and dipped in ketchup…the avocado I had was grossly overripe and didn’t look appetizing to me at all.
