I
worked a double shift at work today. The day did not start off well at
all. We were having computer issues and no one was able to log on
their computers. We were
getting a “no domain available to authenticate your request” error. So
frustrating. It took almost 2.5 hours, but the IT department finally
got things fixed and we were able to get back on our computers. I
wanted to get into my email and read the blog post
I wrote on Tuesday (when I also worked a double) to remind myself of
the times I ate at. But that’s okay. I remembered I didn’t eat my
first meal until around 8:30 and then my first snack I ate around
11:30. I was so bored when I wasn’t able to log onto
the computer this morning. And when I get bored, I think about food.
That made it a little difficult to wait until 8:30 to eat my Meal 1.
But, I stayed strong and I held out. I kept sipping on my coffee to
quell the hunger signals my stomach kept giving
me.
I
slept not great last night. I was tired enough, I just kept waking
up. I’m not sure why. Tomorrow, I’ll get to sleep in until about 9
because my workout tomorrow
is another 30 minutes of 3-to-1’s on the good ol’ dreadmill.
You
guys maybe have noticed that I’m not taking pictures of everything I
eat every day. I figure it’s something I’ve already eaten, there’s
really no point in taking
a new picture of the same thing over and over again. And, with that
said, I’m sorry I forgot to take a picture of the PB&J English
muffin snack I had today. Next time I eat it (and I will, I love
PB&J) I will take a picture. I also forgot to take a picture of my chicken and broccoli that I had for my final meal of the day (aka-dinner). Oh, and the yogurt. Oops. It was really good though.
Since
starting the Shred Diet, I no longer stop at 7-11 to grab a latte out
of their latte machine when I work double shifts. Too many unnecessary
calories. Instead,
I grabbed some coffee out of the big coffee pot last night before I
left and put it in the fridge. I just warmed it up this morning.
When
I woke up this morning, I had a pretty good pain in the right side of
my lower back. Pretty sure it was a muscle spasm, so I took a
Flexerell. I also kept stretching
it as best as I could because that seemed to help a little…and I’ll
take any relief I can get.
Last
night’s dinner was good. However, I went with a short cut for my sweet
potato. I nuked it in the microwave. It was horrible. I’m never
doing that again. It
was like eating a sweet potato flavored piece of leather. Blarg! I
should have just baked it the night before like I was originally going
to do…or yesterday morning before I went to the gym. Oh well, lesson
learned, right?
I’m
excited to see what the scale says on Sunday morning when I step on
it. my pants are already not as tight as they were at the beginning of
this week. So that’s
a good thing. I hope to see at least a 1.3 lb loss because that will
put me back in the 170’s.
Something
I should make a note of is that at the beginning of the week, my acid
reflux/heartburn problem was…well…a problem. But now, after 5 days of
eating healthy,
whole foods, it’s pretty much gone. The first day or two I was still
having some issues, but then it completely went away. This makes me
very happy. For me, it’s not necessarily a what I ate issue…it’s mostly
a weight issue for me. the more weight I lose,
the less I have problems with heartburn/acid reflux.
Full
disclosure for the day…I had A bite of an egg and bacon breakfast taco
and a VERY small slice (like maybe 2 or 3 bites worth) of carrot cake
today. Also, I am
proud of myself for saying no to a BBQ sandwich. I wanted it, but not
enough to eat that much of a food not on my food schedule. A bite here
and a bite there is fine, but half of a sandwich? Too much for now.
Maybe in a few weeks, after I’ve lost 4 or
5 lbs, but not right now.
