All
my shoes are the same brand: Mizuno. I have only ever bought one pair
of non-Mizuno running shoes. I bought a pair of Saucony once and I
didn’t like them. I ended up getting hip pain from wearing them. I
know plenty of people that
wear them without issue, they just didn’t work for me. So, I stick
with Mizuno. Mizuno works the best for me. And they have a huge range
of different shoes. My first pair of Mizunos was the Alchemy 12’s.
When
those wore out, I went to buy another pair just to find out that they
had been discontinued. So I went back to be refitted for a different
pair of shoes. This is when I ended up with the Sauconys. After the
Sauconys, I wanted to
go back to Mizuno, so went in for another refitting and ended up taking
home a pair of Mizuno Wave Inspire 9’s in pink.
I wanted to get a second pair of shoes
so I could start doing shoe rotations and not be wearing the same shoe
every single time I was running. So I tried out the Mizuno Wave
Paradox, which was a brand new release by Mizuno at the time.
I really liked the design on the shoe and they felt good when I ran in
them.
I
really liked the Inspires, so when it was time to get a second pair of
shoes to do my longer runs in, I went with the next generation and got
the Inspire 10’s in blue. I had wanted them in red, but the store only
had blue and slate grey.
Grey is so boring. Haha.
In
November, I stumbled upon Finishline.com and they were having a massive
end of season clearance. I ordered a pair of the Mizuno Wave Creation
15’s. Now, the Creation shoes are a little different from the
Inspires. The Inspires are
what are called stability shoes, which means they give extra arch
support. The Creations are what are called neutral shoes, and the
majority of runners actually use neutrals. They don’t provide any extra
support, just a regular insole, basically. Since
I missed out on getting the Inspire 10’s in red, I got these shoes in
red. And they’re actually like a red and white marbled look and a
friend said they look like bacon. Haha. I like them and will wear them
for mid-range distance runs.
I
then again hit up Finishline.com’s clearance sale and scored a pair of
Mizuno Wave Prophecy 3’s. The Prophecys are also neutral shoes, but
they have a sole that is more shock absorbing than the Creation. They
feel like I’m running on
pillows without being over-soft. They feel kind of like my feet are
being massaged while I’m running. I really like these shoes and do plan
to buy another pair of Prophecys when these ones wear out.
My
most recent pair of Mizunos is the Inspire 11’s. These are by far my
favorite. I have worn them in 2 marathons, 2 half marathons, and a
couple 10Ks. They help my feet not feel tired and they have just the
right amount of support.
I plan to buy a second pair of these before they retire them and move
to the 12th generation.
What are your favorite shoes? Why?
